The Daily Star's headline, "Rice in curry prices", is on a story that there is a worldwide cumin shortage, prompting fears that Britons "will soon be forking out big bucks for a decent ruby".

They have substituted "rice" for "rise", and in the story, "forking out" means paying, and a "ruby" is not a precious stone, it's short for "Ruby Murray", which is Cockney for "curry".  Cumin is one of the main spices used in curries.
